Confirmation of good defence cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia

Within the framework of the joint session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Slovenia, held in Belgrade, today, Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic had talks with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Andreja Katic.

Minister Djordjevic expressed his satisfaction with regular meetings with Minister Katic, which, apart from holding joint sessions of the governments, is one of the ways to overcome the current problems regarding the complex security situation.

The ministers assessed that cooperation in the field of defence is developed and meaningful, in accordance with the overall political relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Djordjevic and Katic stressed the importance of further development of military economic cooperation. This was confirmed by today's meeting of representatives of the ministries of defence and Serbian Defence Industry and companies from Slovenia dealing with the production and trade in arms and military equipment.

Minister Katic pointed out the necessity of more intensive cooperation in the domain of civil protection and specifically stressed the importance of the establishment of the Balkan Medical Task Force, which should become a recognizable and respectable regional power.
