New doctors of science of the University of Defence promoted



The graduation ceremony for 19 PhDs of the Defense University was held today at the Center for Simulation and Distance Learning at the Military Academy. Diplomas were awarded to doctoral students by the rector of the Defence University Lieutenant-General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtic .

The ceremony, which was held to mark the Day of the University of Defence-24 February, was attended by representatives of the University of Defence, members of the committee that evaluated PhD theses and doctoral students'  families.

General Jevtic said that today they were fulfilling their mission, and that doctoral students had started a new page in the book in their professional and scientific careers.

I would like you to continue your career and write many more pages as part of your professional and academic engagement. Today, you have only qualified for future work by obtaining your degrees so you can contribute to creating a better future for our defense system and our country. We expect that from you. The task is to help the training of new staff , young PhDs, cadets and students , as general Jevtic remarked wishing their parents and family members to support doctoral students in their further work and development.

He said that the newly-promoted doctors of science should serve as an example to other how in crisis and difficult situation we can do something creative affirmative, that we can move forward together and "we can do more and better."

Vice-rector for scientific research of the University of Defence prof. Mirjana Zivotic- Vanovic presented new doctors of science and emphasized that the true research has always been an indicator of individual talent, zeal, individual quality of education and training, and personal reflections on the general empirical guidelines, specific requirements of each specific research project.

- A PhD diploma formally gives you the qualification to independently observe scientific problems, select them, observe them and shapes them in a way that will ensure that the research has the required response, said Zivotić - Vanovic.

The following PhD students were promoted: Colonel Vlado Cvijanovic , Lieutenant Colonels Srecko Kuzmanovic , Aleksandar Kari, Goran Zupac , Sasa Milutinovic, Hajradin Radoncic , Miodrag Kostic , Mirko Resan , Dragan Todorov and Dejan Indic, then Majors Dragan Pamucar and Ivan Petrovic , military employees Biljana Stojkovic, Vladimir Vukmirica, Ljiljana Jelisavac, Olgica Lazarevic , Aleksandar Vukomanovic and Ljubisa Ristic , and a civilian Predrag Ranitovic
