NATO defence college's visit



Attendees of 123rd class course for senior officers , staff and management representatives of the NATO Defense College in Rome , during this two day teaching visit to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces , attended today at the House of Guards in Tocpider presentations of Serbia’s foreign and security policy, Defense Policy , cooperation with KFOR , Serbia's participation in multinational operations and the organization of work and teaching program in High Security and Defence Studies , the highest form of training in the defense system of Serbia .

At the beginning, in his welcome speech , the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic said that " the approach we express is the result of our strong commitment to continuing and constantly improving the so far very intensive cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization , through the mechanisms of the Partnership for Peace . This cooperation is successfully carried out while maintaining the concept of military neutrality of Serbia " .

Assistant Foreign Minister for Security Miomir Udovicki spoke of these topics , Assistant Minister for Defense Policy Miroslav Jovanovic, Head of Operations of the General Staff ( J3 ) Major General Vojin T . Jondić and Chief of High Security and Defence Studies Colonel Slobodan Joksimovic .

After the presentation and discussion of a number of security issues important for Serbia , the region and the Euro-Atlantic Integration , Assistant Minister Jovanovic , said that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army during this year , in the region on a wider international level , were recognized as a reliable partner , which contributed to the building of trust , security and stability on the whole .

Assessing the visit to Serbia as important , Dr. Daria Daniels Skodnik , dean of NATO Defense College , the first woman in such a high position since the founding of the College in 1951, said that the visit was very important for students and senior military schools , because it is an opportunity to gain a better insight , information ainto the  defense system of Serbia as a whole . She also expressed her hope , given that this is the first visit of its kind, that this cooperation will continue in the future .
