Assistant Minister Jovanovic meets with the president of the Atlantic Treaty Association and the German ambassador

Assistant Minister for Defense Policy Miroslav Jovanovic met today with President of the Atlantic Treaty Association , Karl Lamers, and the German ambassador to Belgrade , HE Heinz Wilhelm        .

Topics of discussion were the participation of the Republic of Serbia in NATO's Partnership for Peace Programme and the relations of the Republic of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Germany in military-security plan. It was concluded that Serbia and NATO have good international military cooperation and that there is a common interest for its further strengthening. The adoption of the Individual Partnership Action Plan with NATO, and the approximation of the IPP and Cooperation ( planned activities during in 2014) are also expected to be adopted soon..

Cooperation with Germany in defense was also rated as very good , but it should be improved. The bilateral military cooperation plan for in 2014 was harmonized, and in the next period agreement on defense cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Germany is expected to be fully harmonized.

Assistant minister Jovanović expressed gratitude for the professional involvement of armed forces in KFOR and the support that Germany is giving to European integrations of our country.
