Regional course on search and rescue on Tara



The four-day regional course " Coordinator of the Search and Rescue " started today at Tara in " Omorika " military facility "Tara ." The aim of the course is to inform and educate members of national institutions involved in searching and rescuing the roles and responsibilities of teams who engage in these actions and learn about best practices for planning, organizing and executing search and rescue missions .

The organizers of the course the Serbian Ministry of Defense , Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Regional Center for Cooperation - RACVIAC and participants come from Serbia , Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian Republic , Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania , Denmark, Lithuania, Italy and Libya.

pening the course Deputy Minister for Defence Miroslav Jovanovic said that the nature of the challenges do not stop at the borders of one country but rather cause the systems and procedures aimed at responding to these challenges to be designed at transnational or supranational level with the highest possible degree of interoperability.

- The Ministry of Defence of Serbia participates in all regional defense initiatives in South Eastern Europe. We believe in the common goal of connecting our neighbors and us - the establishment of long-term sustainability of regional security that will create the conditions for economic growth , development of the legal system and the development of effective institutions to integrate our entire region in a regulated system of the European Union - said Deputy Minister Jovanovic noting that this course contributes to greater cross-border cooperation in the field of search and rescue and improvement of national service in the area.

At the opening ceremony key speakers were Ambassador Branimir Mandic , Director of RACVIAC and Lieutenant - Urup These Madsen from Denmark who is also the coordinator of the regional exchange .

Ministry of Defense of Serbia supports this program activity RACVIAC given the interest in the improvement of the national search and rescue operations in which members of Air Force participated with teams and helicopters in continuous duty , as well as full support for regional initiatives for better cooperation in South East Europe .
