Minister Stefanović meets with the Ambassador of Algeria, Mr. Chebchoub
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Serbia, H.E. Mr. Abdelhamid Chebchoub.
Minister Stefanović expressed his gratitude for the message sent to him by the Chief of the General Staff of the Algerian People's National Army congratulating him on his appointment as the Minister of Defence.
Stefanović thanked the Algerian ambassador for Algeria’s principled support regarding the issue of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo and the preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.He pointed out that the Ministry of Defence was ready to continue the strategic partnership in the field of defence, mainly through military-economic and military-educational cooperation, as well as in other areas of common interest.
Ambassador Chebchoub congratulated Minister Stefanović on taking office and wished him success in his future professional endeavours. He conveyed Algeria’s interest in continuing and intensifying the strategic partnership in the field of military-economic cooperation and training of Algerian military personnel in Serbian military educational institutions.
