Minister Vulin: Construction of Covid hospital in Batajnica is going according to plan, the deadline for completion is 1st December

Today, the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, checked on the progress of the construction of a new Covid hospital in Batajnica, within the military complex “Zemun ekonomija”, and on that occasion he said that, although there is a decrease in the number of the newly infected with the coronavirus in our country, that is no reason for us to relax and not to think of what might await us in the future.
- Thanks to strong measures, thanks to the time in which President Aleksandar Vučić ensured that our economy functions, that we have more money, that we work better, thanks to those difficult moments, today we have the money to build new hospitals and funds to prepare for the future. As ordered by the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, the new Covid hospital in Batajnica will be built and put into operation on 1st December - said Minister Vulin and added that it is up to us to do our best to carry out this order, because the citizens of Serbia rightly expect from their armed forces to always work best and give the best results.

Dejan Burčul, the CEO and the owner of the “Termomont” company, which was entrusted, together with its associates, with the construction of the new Covid hospital, thanked Minister Vulin for coming to check on the progress of the works, emphasizing that everything is going according to plan.
- The works here are progressing as planned. Our deadline is 1st December. We are aware of our obligations, primarily contractual, but also our obligations to the country. The state has allocated huge funds for the construction of this hospital, as well as the hospital in Kruševac. I am sure that together we will manage to complete our work within the set deadline - Mr Burčul emphasized.

The new Covid hospital within the military complex “Zemun ekonomija” in Batajnica will have 1,000 hospital beds, and in addition to the hospital, it is planned to build the supporting infrastructure, access roads and slip roads. This 18,000 square metre hospital will be the most important and the largest hospital for the treatment of Covid patients in our country.
