Serbian-Russian commemorative ceremony at the “Čačalica” Memorial Complex





A delegation from the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths at the “Čačalica” Memorial Complex in Požarevac as part of a national ceremony honoring the soldiers and civilians killed in World War II.

The commemorative gathering, with national and military honors, began with a wreath-laying ceremony and commemoration at the Red Army Memorial Ossuary, followed by Serbian and foreign officials paying tribute to the victims of the Second World War at the Memorial Ossuary of Patriots.

The ceremony was headed by Assistant Minister for Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, Zoran Milošević, and wreaths were laid by representatives of the City of Požarevac, diplomatic representatives of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, as well as associations and citizens committed to nurturing and upholding the traditions of the Serbian liberation wars.

The organizer of the commemoration ceremony is the Government Committee for Preserving the Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars.
