Minister Vulin: We continue cooperation with friend of steel

Appearing in the Morning programme of Radio-Television Serbia, Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin emphasized that the visit of the delegation of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia is a great honor and that the People’s Liberation Army of China is one of the most powerful forces in the world.

- Never in the history of military relations between our Ministries and Armed Forces have we received such a high delegation. The Chinese pay particular attention to such events. These visits are planned years in advance and they follow up extremely carefully what happens during those visits, who will come, how long they would stay. This is all a protocol of a mighty and big country demonstrating how much she cares about someone – said Minister Vulin.

He pointed out that personal friendship and strategic partnership created by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Chinese President Xi Jinping are binding for all of us, and that the level of the delegation visiting Serbia was a direct product of the talks between the two leaders and their agreement in observing world problems and the way in which relations between free and sovereign states should be developed.

- The People’s Republic of China is highly respectful of Serbia’s free policy and that we are one of the last countries in Europe to have the courage to speak with our own voice and represent our own interests – emphasized Minister Vulin and said that the visit of the Chinese delegation was of immense importance for the Serbian Armed Forces.

Asked about the procurement of Chinese unmanned aerial vehicles, Minister Vulin replied that this was something that has been agreed upon earlier, which will significantly strengthen the Serbian Armed Forces, that will thus gain capabilities it had not possessed before.

Referring to the criticism of the West regarding the Serbia-China relations, Minister Vulin said that Serbia is a free and sovereign country that will pursue an independent policy and that cooperation with our steel friend would continue.

- Serbia will continue to pursue an independent, free policy while it is run by independent, free people. We continue to cooperate with our steel friend, with a country that does not demand from us to change our system, to give up any part of our territory, which would never dream of bombarding us, which does not ask from us to prevent anyone’s investments, which will allow for quite normal market competition anywhere and which above all respects us – said Minister Vulin.
