Minister Vulin: Citizens of Serbia have confidence in Military Medical Service




Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin visited the Military Medical Center Karaburma, where, as part of the action of the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the upcoming Day of the Medical Service and 180 years of Serbian Military Medical Service, free medical examinations for all citizens were organized today.

- Today, in the military hospitals in Novi Sad, Niš and Belgrade, free medical examinations are provided. This is our way to demonstrate to all citizens of Serbia that we, as an Armed Force, are here because of them, that any investment in the SerbianArmed Forces is an investment in the better quality of life of each of us. Anyone who is a member of the Serbian Armed Forces knows that his highest and most supreme task is to protect the security and safety of our country, but members of our Military Medical Service are there to always help each of us to be healthier, to feel better, there to recognize what is troubling us and of course, to treat it together.

Minister Vulin says that 180 years of Military Medical Service is a great jubilee and that the trust of our citizens is with the Serbian Armed Forces.

- Military Medical Service enjoys great confidence of the citizens of Serbia. I am very proud of all members of the Military Medical Service, grateful to the citizens of Serbia for understanding, recognizing, respecting and loving their Armed Forces and also our Military MedicalService– emphasizedMinister Vulin.

The Head of the Center for Military Medical Services, Belgrade, Colonel Slavoljub Staletović, pointed out that the response of the citizens to free medical examinations, just like before, is remarkable. It is expected that 200 patients will be examined today at the Military Medical Center Karaburma, which is the maximum for this institution.

Colonel Staletović thanked the citizens for their exceptional confidence demonstrated every year and recalled that today there is a wide range of specialist examinations, namely examinations of the internists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, dermato-venerologists, gynecologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, otorhinolaryngologists, specialists in physical medicine and biochemists.

For specialist examinations at the Military Medical Center Karaburma, Military Hospital Niš and Military Hospital Novi Sad, it was possible for all interested citizensto apply, including those who are not beneficiaries of health insurance.

Retired professor Radoje Šljivančanin came for his examination today. He points out that the checkups are well planned and organized and that there is not much waiting.

- I can say that it is praiseworthy for the Ministry of Defense to organize this action, namely, the Military MedicalServicethat implements the action. I think that this is good for all our citizens - says Šljivančaninand adds that the general state of health with relation to the previous state is continuously improving.

Ilinka Vojvodić emphasizes that she deeply trusted theMilitary MedicalServiceand that she is truly grateful that free medical examinations are organized, as she says that today she will be examined free of charge, instead of paying for the examination, as she had previously planned.

Dragan Nikolić,who is for the second time there fora free medical examination at a Military-Medical Institutiondid not hide his satisfaction with the work of the personnel at the Military Medical Center Karaburma.

- I thank the Ministry of Defense for providing such services. I think that they should be more frequent, because there are a lot of people who would like to do it this, since there is much waiting in GeneralHealth and Clinical Centers - said Nikolić.

During today’s visit to the Military Medical Center Karaburma, the Minister of Defense was accompanied bythe State Secretary BojanJocić and the Head of the Military Medical Administration, Brigadier General UglješaJovičić.
