Minister Vulin: The state again takes care of the people who take care of it

- The President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić has started an initiative to resolve the housing issue of all members of security structures of our country in this way. This is the best possible way which we have not followed for a long time, and that road shows that we are an organised state which appreciates its security sector members and which takes care of not only them and their living and working conditions, but of their families as well – Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin stated today as he laid the foundation stone for construction of flats for the members of security services in Kragujevac.

The minister of defence underlined that a man who was secured, stable, content, and whose family was not looked after, would do all and protect his country.
- All our security structures members protect and defend our country even when the state does not give them something, but this is the way for us to show how much we appreciate them, respect and love them. Kragujevac is going to be richer for 800 flats which will be given to 800 families. I repeat that these are not just any welfare flats since those are the flats built according to the highest standards of the vocation and profession, while state and local governments are there to ensure that the prices are acceptable and far less than the prices on the market – Minister Vulin stressed adding that he was very proud of all the security services members, and of their enthusiasm and work.

According to him these flats are an opportunity to show that we as state are creating a system once again and that the people are looked after since the moment when they become members of defence system, through their education and employment, medical treatment and care for the standard of living of their families too.

- I am very grateful to Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić for having started this initiative, and for having insisted that it be implemented thus showing that the times are coming back when the state took care of the people who took care of it – Minister Vulin sent the message adding that the flats would be finished in 2020 and that the price of a sqare meter would be 430 euros without VAT, and having in mind that those flats would be the first flat of the majority of families they would be able to get the VAT return.

Together with the minister of defence, state secretary in the Ministry of Internal Milosav Miličković and Major of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolić laid the foundation stone for the construction of flats in a part of Kragujevac called Denino Brdo.
Speaking about the importance of this project for the town of Kragujevac, Mayor Nikolić underlined that though it was an urban planning challenge, the town administration would provide necessary infrastructure for that entirely new residential area that would revive and contribute to development of that part of the town.

Director of Construction Directorate of Serbia Nebojša Šurlan stressed that the flats for the members of security forces had already been built in Niš and Vranje, and that on that day the construction started in Kragujevac and Kraljevo, with a plan to open tenders for Sremska Mitrovica and Novi Sad. He underscored that the construction is planned for eight thousand flats on more than 600 thousand square meters for the members of security forces all over Serbia.

Lieutenant Milan Čkonjević from the 250th AD Rocket Brigade serving in Kragujevac garrison is one of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces interested in flats located in Denino Brdo in Kragujevac.

- I have been a tenant for seven years; I live with my family, wife and a child. I am interested in this flat and I am really looking forward to the construction, because I believe that this project is extremely important for all of us in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces since it is the easiest and quickest way for us to get to a flat under rather favourable conditions as well - Lieutenant Čkonjević stressed.

Member of the Ministry of Interior Miljana Isailović has been employed in the Police Department of Kragujevac for 17 years now and she is one of the interested in the construction of flats and she highlighted that for many of her colleagues, who perform that serious and responsible work, that would be an opportunity to permanently resolve their housing issue.

Today’s ceremony of laying the foundation stone was also attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Bojan Jocić and Commander of the 250th AD Rocket Brigade Colonel Tiosav Janković.
