Minister of Defence meets Head of European Union Delegation

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has met today with, Mr Sem Fabrizi Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, with whom he discussed, among other things, the current security situation.

Minister Vulin emphasised that for the Republic of Serbia the establishment of the so-called “Kosovo army” is unacceptable and that KFOR is the only guarantor of security in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, in accordance with the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

According to him, Serbia remains firm in the view that Resolution 1244 should be strictly complied with and that KFOR is the most responsible factor for maintaining peace and security in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

He also expressed his gratitude to European Commissioner Johannes Hahn on the principled position and providing support to the Republic of Serbia regarding the imposed tariffs.

At the end of the meeting, the defence minister said that the Republic of Serbia and its president and supreme commander continue to run a policy thanks to which they were, they are, and will be, a factor of stability in the region.

Minister Vulin emphasized that the Ministry of Defence continues to cooperate with the European Union in the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy through engagement in European Union missions, preparations for participation in the European Union's battle group, preparations for sending civilians to missions and participation in joint projects with the European Defence Agency.
