Change-of-Command Ceremony of the Commandant of the Military Academy




 
At the General Jovan Mišković barracks in Belgrade, a change-of-command ceremony of the Commandant of the Military Academy took place.
 
The military ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Defence, Major General Goran Radovanović, with associates, members of the College of the Commandant of the Military Academy, as well as employees of that higher education institution. 
 
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Major General Prof. Bojan Zrnić, was appointed Commandant of the Military Academy.
 
The Rector of the University of Defence pointed out that the former head of the Military Academy Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan has stabilized and enhanced its work and demonstrated to all his subordinates what does it mean to professionally perform the tasks. He congratulated Major General Bojan Zrnić on assuming the duty of a Commandant of the Military Academy and wished him a lot of success in performing this honourable and responsible duty.
 
- These two senior officers of the Serbian Armed Forces are the best example for officers and cadets of the Military Academy, how the assigned tasks can be carried out with self-sacrificing work, while at the same time educating themselves, attaining high military, academic and scientific titles, General Radovanović said.
 
The former Commandant of the Military Academy, who was appointed Commander of the Special Brigade by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia, in his address, thanked the members of the Military Academy who helped him in the previous period in the performance of his duties as head of that institution. General Talijan stressed that the future cooperation between the Military Academy and the Special Brigade will be based on long-term plans of mutually beneficial activities.
 
The newly appointed Commandant of the Military Academy, Major General Bojan Zrnić, addressing the attendees at the ceremony, said that he was honoured to continue his officer career in an institution with a very long tradition in the defence system. He expressed his firm determination to continue the initiated modernization of the infrastructure in the Military Academy, raising of the cadet standard and the restoration of the material base of teaching, in order to better prepare cadets for work in the defence system at the Military Academy.
 
During the change-of-command ceremony of the Commandant of the Military Academy, the formal parade of the members of the Military Academy was held.
