General Diković visits the Book Fair




 
On the third day of the 62nd  International Book Fair, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubiša Diković, visited the booth of the Ministry of Defence and Odbrana Media Centre.
 
During the visit to Odbrana MC booth, General Diković emphasized the importance of this cultural event for Serbia.
 
- The book fair that has been going on for years, and I hope that this will be the case in the future, is an indicator of the intellectual strength of this country, and it is of immesurable benefit for all its citizens who thus get acquainted with the literary treasures, General Diković said .
 
Speaking about the performance of Odbrana MC at the Book Fair, the Chief of General Staff said that there are a large number of publications, among which there are very interesting works for the broad readership, but also those that will be of extraordinary benefit to the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers in the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
- I would like to highlight the prepared journal of the minister of war from 1914, Dušan Stefanović, the work that is before the readers for the first time. As far as professional literature is concerned, there is an abundance of titles, ranging from "Theory of Flying" to "Survival in Nature", and all these works are the real professional treasure, General Diković said.
 
He especially greeted the present cadets of the Military Academy and Military High School, showing interest for their accomplishments and problems.
 
The visit to the 62nd International Book Fair was an occasion for the Chief of General Staff to visit also other publishers, such as the Zlatibor District in the "Borislav Pekić" hall, where, finally, a translated work “Karu” by Steve Tešić, a great American screenwriter and writer, Oscar-winner, born in Užice, was presented.
