Donation to the Military Museum




The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has given the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic 2 Russian machine guns today, as a gift to the Military Museum. From today the exhibition of this military institution has been richer for DP-28 machine gun chambered for the 7.62x54 mmR round and RPD-44 machine gun for the 7.62x39mm cartridge.
 
Донација Војном музеју According to Minister Dacic, the machine guns are the personal gift of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to the Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister handed after the session of the Mixed Russian-Serbian Committee for cooperation held in the Russian town of Suzdal.
 
“Deputy Prime Minister Rogozin has asked me to give these exhibits to the Military Museum in Belgrade. One out of these two machine guns has been designed according to the model used in World War II and during the liberation of Belgrade, thus representing a significant gift. I assume that all visitors to the Military Museum will be content with the chance to see such exhibits”, Dacic said and stressed that he gave them “with the wish never to use such weapons again”.
 
Донација Војном музеју Dacic emphasized that today’s event is an example of good cooperation of two ministries and a sign that Serbia has good collaboration with other countries.
 
Minister Djordjevic thanked Dacic and Rogozin for the gift.
 
“This gift will surely enrich the collection and exhibition of the Military Museum. Both machine guns have been repaired, that is adapted to be the museum exhibits”, the Defence Minister stressed.
 
Djordjevic has given Minister of Foreign Affairs a model sabre and according to a custom Dacic gave a coin for it.
