Minister of defence with the construction workers of water pipeline in Uzice
The first meeting of the Government's Coordination Team to monitor the activities of providing safe drinking water in the city was held in Uzice today, which was attended by ministers Igor Mirović and Nebojsa Rodic , as well as representatives of the working group for monitoring the activities of providing safe drinking water. On this occasion , the government announced support for the construction of 20 million RSD worth of pipeline, and will provide even more so , and the Ministry of Construction and Urban Planning , said in a meeting with construction workers Minister Velimir Ilic.After the meeting , the ministers toured the work in the field around Susica springs below Zlatibor these days where members of the Serbian army are tirelessly and persistently working on clearing the ground for the installation of pipelines that would solve the problem of Uzice supply of drinking water .
These young builders in uniform and their officers visited the Serbian Army Chief of General Ljubisa Diković , State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic and commander of the Second Brigade , Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic .
Military excavators, trucks and other heavy equipment are operating at full capacity without any respite for members of the 210th Engineer Battalion of the Second Brigade of the Army who clean the rocky , craggy trees and overgrown terrain. The wider area should be completely cleared quickly to lay 1,500 feet of pipeline, from generous Sušica springs to the village Stapari to which the Uzice water system reaches .
-We are proud that the required work is being performed as quickly and as effectively. we have to be more persistent in the selfless sacrifice that makes it possible to relieve this environmental disaster . As a gift to you hardworking people who work hard , general Diković and I bought and have brought roast lamb and warm bread, to treat yourself because you rightly deserve it - the minister said Rodic having gathered the unit.Talking about the venture , the Minister pointed out that we should not worry about whether the works will be completed on schedule .
- If the weather holds , we will bring work to the end by the set date 25 January. Here we have representatives of the army , we have heavy equipment and the roads we came from when they made the army , 7 and 8 January accessed here . I think that with the involvement of all ministries and meeting the requests set by the Government and in cooperation with local governments and municipalities of Uzice and Čajetina we shall complete the work on time . The Army now has 12 tanks in the town of Uzice to supply the citizens with potable water and they are ready to offer the possibility of supplying citizens with water even in freezing temperatures- as Defense Minister Nebojsa Rodic remarked.
