SAF Infantry Platoon gets back from Lebanon

The members of the Infantry Platoon of the Fourth Army Brigade flew tonight from Beirut into Niš after a successful six-month participation in UN UNIFIL multinational operation. Peacekeepers were welcomed by Deputy Commander of Land Forces Major General Milosav Simović, Commander of the Fourth Brigade Brigadier General Zoran Lubura, Chief of the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations Colonel Milivoje Pajović, Deputy Commander of the Third Brigade Predrag Grbić, relatives and friends.

“Tonight we witness that the soldiers and commanding officers of the Infantry Platoon of the Fourth Army Brigade, after six months spent in the mission in Lebanon, came back proud and in a good mood – said Major General Milisav Simović – not only because they gained a great experience in performing the specialist part of the task but also because they learned about different cultures. They speak particularly well about the relationship they had with the members of the Spanish Armed Forces and there is no doubt that they have represented the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia in the best way possible.
Commander of the Infantry Platoon of the Fourth Brigade, Captain Miloš Todorović, points out that everything passed perfectly to the pleasure of all present in multinational operation.

Commandant of the Sector East and the base “Miguel de Cervantes“, General Del Pozo, has told us today that if every subsequent unit of the Serbian Armed Forces performs its tasks at this level they will have the best partner – said Captain Todorović – All the tasks were performed to the advantage of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia, while the experiences from multinational operation in Lebanon are very positive. Simply the task was done without single failure in the work“.

A smaller part of the Infantry Platoon was accommodated in the base “Miguel de Cervantes“ while a greater part of platoon performed the tasks around the village of Gadjor, in the very south of Lebanon, close to the border with Israel. The members of the infantry platoon of the Fourth brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces were engaged in preserving the security in the south-eastern part of Lebanon.
