The Opening Ceremony was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic.
At the Belgrade Fair, book lovers will enjoy until 27 October in publications of more than five hundred exhibitors, including the Odbrana Media Centre, and the guest of honour in this year's fair is the Republic of Poland.
Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic visited tonight the booth of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the booth of the Odbrana Media Centre and after opening of the 58th International Belgrade Book Fair, the booth pf Odbrana Media Centre was visited by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Nebojsa Stefanovic, and Serbian Patriarch Irinej.
This year the fair gathered more than 500 direct exhibitors, of which 48 were from abroad, and its slogan "Spaces of Freedom" highlights and questions the relationship between an author and the social moment. Within the organization of the book fair there will be 60 forums and debates on the topics of freedom, creativity and mobility, and it is specific this year for the space dedicated to children and children's literature. The campaign for collecting books for the libraries which are most in need in Serbia has continued, just like the last year, when more than 1,600 books were collected.
Odbrana Media Centre presents twenty new titles at the Fair, and more than 400 publications are to be exposed to its booth. In the period between the two book fairs, more than 100 titles were published in the military publishing house. Since it is the specific publisher, oriented to meeting the needs of the defence system, smaller part of its publishing activity is intended for the general public, which Odbrana Media Centre is to present at this cultural event. Promotion of new titles of the Odbrana Media Centre will be held in the ring of the Hall 1 of the Belgrade Fair every day from 5 pm.
Schedule of promotions of new titles of the Odbrana Media Centre is available at the web site of the Media Centre.
