Visiting the Training center in Pozarevac
Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, Deputy Chief of general Staff Major General Milan Bjelica and Commander of the Training Command , Brigadier General Dusan Stojanovic visited the Training center in Pozarevac in Pavle Jurisic Sturm barracks.
Furthermore, the minister and his associates visited the facilities of the Centre and a memorial room, and attended the presentation of training by specialties.
After the demonstration exercise performed by the members of the Center, Sutanovac said that training is an important part of the professionalization of the army.
Today's presentation of capabilities were performed exclusively by professional soldiers, members of the Training Center. It is the most important center for the training of the Army - said Sutanovac reminding that it was the members of the center who, during the winter period and heavy snow, assisted civilian population in Pozarevac area, and in central Serbia .
In his words, in the continuation of the process of modernization and professionalization of the Army, the focus will definitely be on training.
-No matter how well a soldier may be quipped, if not properly trained, he is of no use. We wish to have all members trained to the highest level - Sutanovac said, adding that soon a new generation of soldiers on voluntary military service who would be trained would arrive in the center.
Acting Commander of the Training Center of the Army in Pozarevac Colonel Dusko Sljivancanin, in giving a representation of the institution, said that it was tasked with training non-commissioned officers, professional soldiers, and soldiers on voluntary military service.
Today's tour was attended by the mayor of Pozarevac Miodrag Milosavljevic, representatives of the Serbian Army, municipal authorities and institutions.
ANSWERS TO REPORTERS’ QUESTIONS
Sutanovac, announcing the upcoming ministerial of the Cooperation Process in Southeastern Europe, which will be held from 11 to 12 April in Belgrade, organized by the Ministry of Defence, said that the Serbian capital will host the largest number of defense ministers of Southeast Europe.
- This is the biggest event to be organized in our country in recent years by the Ministry of Defence. For us it is extremely important that we will first talks about problems related to security risks and challenges of the region, thus consolidating bilateral cooperation in the region - said Sutanovac reminding that Serbia signed agreements on military cooperation with all countries of the region, except Albania, and some countries have even been very forthcoming in meeting our needs for executing exercises in their territories. He expressed the desire that our Ministry of Defence continues to be a cohesive factor of stability and defense of the region.
