Honorary salvo to celebrate the National day of Serbia
In celebration of the 15th February, the National Day of the Republic of Serbia, by the order of the President of the Republic honorary artillery fire was conducted in Dedinje barracks last evening.
After raising the national flag, firing ten volleys from six artillery weapons were performed by the Honor Battalion of the Guard.The honorary salvo was attended by SAF CHOD Lieutenant General Ljubisa Dikovic with members of the corps.
Serbia celebrates its National Day on the Christian holiday of Michaelmas, celebrating the 208th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising led by Karadjordje. On the same day, in 1835 the first Constitution of the Serbian principality, known as Sretenje Constitution was adopted, which defined Serbia as an independent principality divided into districts, counties and municipalities.
