Minister Gašić visits Krušik in Valjevo
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the Krušik holding corporation in Valjevo today, where he met with the factory’s management and employees to discuss working conditions and key issues relating to the factory’s operations.
During the meeting, a contract was signed for the supply of products manufactured by Krušik to the Serbian Armed Forces. The contract was signed by Colonel Ivan Delić, representing the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, Jovanka Andrić, Acting Director General at Krušik, and Andrijana Subotić, representing Jugoimport SDPR.After the meeting and the signing of the contract, Minister Gašić was shown around the training area used for training unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators. A demonstration was also held showing the operation of the Komarac drone and its firing capabilities.
Minister Gašić emphasised that investing in personnel training and developing the capabilities required to operate unmanned systems enables service personnel to build their knowledge and experience, while continuously enhancing the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.Following this, the Minister of Defence and his delegation toured the newly built gas-fired boiler room and the refurbished machining plant, where the production processes, capacities and working conditions were presented to them. Particular attention was given to improving energy efficiency and using cleaner energy sources that will help reduce emissions of harmful substances, while also creating more favourable working conditions and supporting the sustainable development of Krušik’s manufacturing capacity.
After the tour, Minister Gašić stated that a strong domestic production and reliance on domestic expertise were of crucial importance for the development, modernization, and strengthening the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, and that the contract signed with Krušik was proof of the importance of this factory to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.The discussions continued over lunch with Krušik employees, whom the Minister of Defence thanked for the effort, responsibility and dedication they demonstrate daily.
Also visiting Krušik today were Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, Head of the Defence Technologies Department at the Material Resources Sector, Major General Slavko Rakić, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Nikola Matović, and the Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Dragiša Zlatković.
