Civilian candidates undergoing NCO training
Civilian candidates attending the Serbian Armed Forces’ Non-Commissioned Officers Course are currently in the final phase of their six-month training programme for entry-level NCO duties.
Following the successful completion of the first two modules at the Sergeant Milunka Savić NCO Training Centre in Pančevo, the future NCOs are now undergoing specialist training across various Serbian Armed Forces units.During this 17-week module, candidates are trained to operate specific branch and service equipment. They are also trained to lead teams, groups, and squads, as well as to deliver training.
At the Army Training Centre in Požarevac, candidates are trained for specific roles within the infantry, artillery, armoured and engineer units. The training at this Training Command unit focuses on the tactical use of branch-specific weapons and equipment, drill, firearms, physical training, and military topography.
Candidates who successfully complete the entire programme will be promoted to the rank of sergeant at the end of the month, thus officially joining the professional ranks of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Young men and women looking to pursue a career in the Serbian Armed Forces through this pathway can apply for the current public competition for the NCO Course, which is open until September 30, 2026. The position is open to all adult citizens of the Republic of Serbia with at least four-year secondary education, who were born in 1990 or later. Applicants must meet medical, mental and physical fitness standards, regardless of whether they have previously completed compulsory military service involving the firearms training.
