Serbian Armed Forces provide assistance to residents of villages near Sjenica
Serbian Armed Forces units participating in the Joint Tactical Life-Fire Exercise Victor 2026 on the Pešter Plateau have also been engaged in numerous civil-military cooperation activities in collaboration with the local government authorities in Sjenica in recent days.
As part of these activities, aimed at providing better living conditions to the residents of this part of Serbia, engineering works are being carried out in remote villages across the municipality. Medical assistance is being provided to local residents, along with support in water supply for households in need. Lectures on the risks associated with the use of pyrotechnic devices are also being delivered in schools.Engineering task forces from the 2nd Army Brigade operating in the areas of the villages of Buđevo and Raždaginja on the Pešter Plateau, are carrying out road reconstruction works, as well as cleaning and restoring livestock watering points. In this manner, in addition to providing assistance to local residents, the competence of engineering units in performing general tasks in support of forces conducting operations is also being enhanced.
At the request of the local government, the Serbian Armed Forces have also deployed four water tankers to replenish wells and water reservoirs used by residents for household needs and livestock in the Sjenica villages of Boljare, Bare, Bioč, Dolinje, Dunišiće, Kladnica, Trebine and Ursule.Meanwhile, the Serbian Armed Forces ordnance specialists have delivered a series of lectures at elementary schools in the villages of Raždaginja and Karajukića Bunari on the dangers of using firecrackers, fireworks, flares and other explosive devices, as well as on the standard procedures to follow in the event of encountering unexploded ordnance.
At the beginning of this week, the “Military Doctor in the Village” project was also undertaken in the Pešter villages of Buđevo and Raždaginja. During this activity, doctors and medical technicians from the Serbian Armed Forces performed preventive medical checkups of local residents who have limited access to the healthcare system. By conducting these tasks, the Serbian Armed Forces demonstrate that they are always at the service of the citizens, not only when it comes to the defence of the country, and remain ready to deploy their personnel and equipment, within their available capabilities, wherever and whenever is necessary.
