Joint Tactical Live-Fire Exercise “Victor 2026”

The active phase of the joint tactical live-fire exercise “Victor 2026” has commenced at the Pešter temporary training area. The exercise is being jointly conducted by Army, Air Force and Air Defence, Special Operations and Military Police units of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The training activities will be carried out until the beginning of October. In line with the exercise scenario and planned schedule, they encompass rehearsals and a joint tactical live-fire exercise on the Pešter Plateau. Following this, an Army unit will practise combat operations and tactical marches, while in the final phase, a Military Police unit will carry out training, firing drills, and tactical live-fire exercises in multiple locations.

As the Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Brigade, Colonel Zoran Jovanović, explained, the Serbian Armed Forces are being equipped, developed and strengthened in an accelerated manner, with the strong support of the military leadership, the Minister of Defence, the Government, and in particular the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić. According to him, significant efforts are being made to improve the status and living standards of service personnel, which will continue in the period ahead.
— We are currently in the active phase of the first part of the exercise at the Pešter training area, conducting preparatory activities and readiness checks, including required firing exercises, rehearsals of tactical actions and procedures, and the integration and coordination of tasks carried out by our personnel with newly adopted robotic systems. I would like to emphasise that the value of the acquisition of new combat systems is truly demonstrated through the continuous training of personnel and their preparations for complex tasks. Exercise Victor 2026 will show the results of this process, alongside the ability of Serbian Armed Forces personnel to make full use of the combat capabilities of military equipment – Colonel Jovanović stated.

The objective of the exercise is to further enhance the training proficiency and capability of commands and units in preparing and executing combat operations, as well as organising joint action, cooperation, and force protection, with an emphasis on the employment of newly adopted and modernized arms and military equipment.
The main training activities are being carried out at the Pešter temporary training area, where participating units are currently conducting tactical drills, exercises, and live-fire practices. Intensive activities at the training area will culminate on Sunday, September 13, with an exercise demonstrating a reinforced tactical group executing an offense operation.

Serbian Armed Forces personnel will demonstrate to the public their resolve and proficiency, the firepower of new and modernised assets and systems, as well as a high level of interoperability and cooperation in responding to challenges, risks and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia.
