Minister Gašić meets with Zimbabwean Defence Minister
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Oppah Chamu Zvipange Muchinguri-Kashiri.
The meeting focused on the aspects of defence cooperation that would contribute to strengthening overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Zimbabwe, with a particular emphasis on the planning and implementation of activities that would benefit both countries.
Minister Gašić highlighted Serbia’s appreciation for Zimbabwe’s support for Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, alongside its firm stance on not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo. He noted that this position reaffirms the traditional friendship, mutual respect and understanding that characterise relations between the two countries.He said that Serbia remains fully committed to peacefully protecting and achieving its interests, while consistently advocating for the sovereign equality of states and respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.
The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Zimbabwe thanked Minister Gašić for the meeting, highlighting the importance of strengthening the traditionally friendly ties between the two countries. She also noted that there is significant potential to advance cooperation in the field of defence.
