Annex to cooperation agreement signed between Ministry of Defence and Al Rawafed Srbija
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Mohamed AlKhawar, Director of Al Rawafed Srbija LLC, today signed an Annex to the existing Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Serbia, H.E. Ahmed AlMenhali. The annex enhances the terms governing the lease and use of agricultural land managed by the MOD’s Morović Military Institution.
Minister Gašić expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and Ambassador Ahmed AlMenhali for their assistance during negotiations on enhancing the previously agreed lease terms. He also thanked the UAE leadership and company representatives for acknowledging the need to revise the lease terms.Minister Gašić emphasised that “although the negotiations were lengthy and complex, what matters the most is that the agreement has been reached”. He further noted that this would significantly boost revenues from leasing the land for both the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence. The Minister congratulated representatives of both sides for contributing to the successful conclusion of the negotiations.
Under the Annex, the contracting parties agreed that, as of next year, an additional piece of arable land would be added to the land already leased. A new lease price per hectare of agricultural land was also agreed. It will significantly boost revenues and improve the operations of the Morović Military Institution.During the meeting, it was highlighted that the signing of the Annex marked a continuation of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and Al Rawafed Serbia, which would increase revenues and ensure more rational use of the agricultural land managed by the Ministry of Defence.
