Regular rotation of Serbian Armed Forces team in EUTM Somalia
A regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent, comprising the mission’s head of the medical service and a five-member medical team, has been carried out within the EUTM Somalia.
A team of Serbian Armed Forces doctors and medical technicians has completed its deployment, having served in the AO since late February this year. Throughout this period, they carried out all assigned tasks with professionalism and dedication, thereby earning the recognition of their superiors within the mission command and upholding the reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces’ medical service in an international environment.A new Serbian Armed Forces contingent was deployed to this African country last week. Over the next six months, in accordance with the mission’s mandate, it will, like the previous contingent, carry out tasks involving medical support for training, preventive medical care, and the treatment of international force personnel stationed at Mogadishu Airport.
Since 2012, when the Serbian Armed Forces began participating in the EUTM Somalia, more than 140 doctors and medical technicians have been engaged in this mission, serving in the command and as part of the medical team.By participating in both EU and UN peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to the preservation of global peace and the enhancement of Serbia’s reputation, while simultaneously demonstrating their capability to deploy forces and resources in an international environment.
