Tour of SAF units in Ground Safety Zone

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited today Serbian Armed Forces personnel who carry out their missions in the Tabalije Base’s AOR, within the Ground Safety Zone.
During the tour, he inspected the living arrangements and the organization of work within the base, the challenges facing the security forces of the Republic of Serbia in this part of the country, as well as the readiness of the units tasked with controlling the Ground Safety Zone and guarding the administrative boundary line with Kosovo and Metohija.

Next, he followed a synchronised patrol conducted by SAF personnel and KFOR along the administrative line, from Veliko Brdo to Golo Brdo, thereby gaining a direct insight into the situation on the ground, in the area where members of the Serbian Armed Forces are engaged.

Synchronised patrols are among the most significant joint activities regularly conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR with the aim of monitoring the situation on the ground, preventing illegal activities, and strengthening mutual trust and understanding. More than 5000 synchronised patrols have been conducted since 2005, when they were first introduced.

At the end of his tour, the Chief of the General Staff expressed his satisfaction with the SAF personnel’s level of readiness and their professional cooperation with KFOR. He noted that, even though the security situation is stable, it is necessary to maintain constant vigilance and readiness to react.
