Regular training of Serbian Armed Forces infantry units
Serbian Armed Forces infantry units—trained to conduct combat operations in all conditions—are being intensively equipped and trained to execute tasks on the modern battlefield using new weaponry and military equipment.
The units are training in the areas surrounding their home stations and at a multiservice training area, where the tactical and firearms proficiency of their professional personnel is being evaluated.A major step forward in infantry units’ combat capabilities has been made through the introduction of modern multi-role combat vehicles, as well as new small arms, optoelectronic systems and ballistic protection equipment.
One of the new weapons systems recently fielded to infantry units is the 40mm/6 M-11 PD-51 revolver-type grenade launcher, produced by the domestic defence industry and designed to destroy and neutralize uncovered and partially covered personnel, as well as to disable weapons, artillery pieces, and unarmoured motor vehicles. The introduction of the revolver-type grenade launcher, combined with high-mobility vehicles and new means of support, has improved the capability of evolution units to carry out powerful, rapid, and sudden action.
In the coming period, infantry units will face more complex forms of training, including tactical and live-fire exercises, where they are expected to confirm their readiness to carry out tactical and fire missions during Serbian Armed Forces’ offensive and defensive operations.
