Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces announce public call for scholarship applications



The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have launched a public call for applications for 53 scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. Scholarships are offered to students of the Aviation Academy, students of vocational secondary schools attending mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering programmes, as well as to students of secondary medical schools aspiring to build their professional careers within the defence system.

Students who are in their second, third, or fourth years at secondary schools established by the Republic of Serbia, an autonomous province or a local self-government are eligible to apply. Applicants must have achieved at least a very good academic record and demonstrated exemplary behaviour. Candidates who are awarded scholarships will receive a monthly stipend of RSD 25,000-35,000.

The Serbian Armed Forces are awarding scholarships to third- and fourth-year students at the Aviation Academy studying to become radar mechatronics technicians, aircraft engine technicians and aviation electronics technicians. Scholarships are also available to students enrolled in three-year vocational programmes in mechanical engineering, including locksmith training, as well as civil engineering programmes, including basic construction courses in steel reinforcements and wall finishing, and students attending technical secondary schools on leather design and footwear manufacturing.

Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will undergo the appropriate weapons training, after which they will be admitted to professional military service as non-commissioned officers and posted to units in Belgrade, Mladenovac, Novi Sad, or Batajnica.

The Military Healthcare Department has also launched a public call for applications for scholarships. Scholarships are available to second-, third-, and fourth-year students at secondary medical schools enrolled in general nursing, medical laboratory and pharmacy technician programmes. Once they graduate, complete mandatory internship and pass the state licensing exam, successful applicants will be offered employment in Belgrade as civilian employees within the defence system.

The deadline for submitting applications and supporting documentation is September 30, 2026.
