President Vučić meets Spanish Defence Minister
President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, has met today, in Belgrade, with the Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Spain, Margarita Robles Fernández.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Defence, Bratislav Gašić, and the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.
On that occasion they discussed further strengthening of Serbia-Spain cooperation in defence and security, as well as current regional and European issues of mutual interest.
- I particularly thanked Spain for its consistent and principled position, based on respect for international law, the UN Charter and the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. Such a a responsible and consistent approach provides a strong foundation for mutual trust and friendship between our states. We also considered opportunities for advancement of cooperation in military technology, experience sharing and even stronger ties between our institutions, confident that good relations are built through open dialogue, mutual respect and tangible results. I believe that we will continue to develop close partnership relations to the benefit of our citizens and in the interest of preserving peace, stability and security - President Vučić stated.
