Visit by Supreme Allied Commander Europe



The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today in Belgrade with General Alexus G. Grynkewich, Commander​, ​U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
   During the meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, they discussed aspects of further cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO and current security situation in the region and the world, with special reference to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
 
During the conversation, it was stated that the cooperation is constructive and professional, that it serves the purpose of developing military capabilities and preserving peace and stability in the region, as well as that the established mechanisms enable further development of relations with full respect for the military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia.
   Since the International Security Forces in Kosovo and Metohija are under the operational command of General Grynkewich, the main focus was on the security situation in our southern province and cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR. In that context, they highlighted the importance of open and direct communication between the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, KFOR Commander, JFC Naples Commander and SACEUR and EUCOM Commander.
   General Grynkewich, who is visiting our country at the invitation of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, was also received by the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, and Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić.
