Meeting between Minister Gašić, Minister Mesarović
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Adrijana Mesarović, to discuss the promotion of cooperation between the two ministries.
The discussions focused on cooperation models that would enable jobseekers registered with the National Employment Service to secure employment with the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as with the companies that are part of the Serbian Defence Industry, in accordance with the defence system’s needs and the jobseekers’ qualifications.Minister Gašić emphasized that the defence system of the Republic of Serbia continuously strengthens its capabilities through the modernization of weapons and military equipment, the development of the domestic defence industry, and investment in professional staff, which is one of the ministry’s key priorities.
- The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are ready to offer employment to the registered jobseekers, so that they could contribute with their knowledge and skills to the further strengthening and development of the defence system. In a time of accelerated technological advancements and modernization of the defence system, there is a growing need for the recruitment and employment of skilled and qualified staff, as well as individuals who, with the help of training, could meet the needs of the defence system – Minister Gašić said, noting that the security and professional development of employees are of vital importance for Serbia’s stability and further progress.Minister Mesarović stated that increasing employment is one of the state’s key priorities and emphasized the importance of interdepartmental cooperation in finding sustainable solutions for the economy. She expressed her satisfaction with today’s meeting at the Ministry of Defence, as well as her expectation that the agreed activities would yield concrete results that would further enhance the capabilities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, but also boost employment.
The meeting was attended by Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, Head of the Human Resources Department (J-1), Brigadier General Slađan Hristov, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Nikola Matović, and the director of the National Employment Service, Milan Bosnić.
