Combat Training with Modernized Tanks

Members of the armored units of the Army did tactical training and live firing with modernized M-84 AS1/2 tanks at the “Pasuljanske Livade” Training Ground.
During their several-day stay in the field, the tank crews practiced tactical and firearms procedures while undertaking actions in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces focusing on sudden and powerful penetrations through enemy lines and engaging targets on the move. They fired from a tank gun and a coupled machine gun, at mobile and stationary targets at different distances.

The demonstrated efficiency in the application of tactical actions and the precision of fire confirmed a high level of skills of soldiers, NCOs and officers of the armored units, as well as reliability of modernized sighting and observation devices, the tank gun and remotely controlled combat station.
The commander of the tank company in the 36th tank battalion, Captain 1st Class Mladen Nikić, has pointed out that, after a series of training activities and firing at the “Orešac” Training Ground, the tank crews have shown that they are well-coordinated and ready for more complex tasks.

The modernized M-84 AS1/2 tank is a modern combat platform, which, compared to the basic version, has greater firepower and advanced armor protection. The fire control system and engine compartment have been improved, and the crew has a better view of the battlefield. Currently, the Serbian Armed Forces are undergoing a cycle of intensive combat training in using it on the modern battlefield.
