Applications for Non-Commissioned Officer Course now open to civilians
The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have launched an open competition for civilians who wish to apply for the Non-Commissioned Officer Course and be subsequently admitted to professional military service as full-time non-commissioned officers.
Prospective candidates can apply for one of the 200 available non-commissioned officer jobs within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, across the following branches and services: infantry, artillery, air defence artillery-missile units, armoured units, engineer corps, telecommunications, quartermaster, aerial surveillance and early warning, medical, transportation, IT, and CBRN services, as well as several specialties within the technical service.Applications are open to adult citizens of the Republic of Serbia who have completed at least four years of secondary education, were born in 1990 or later, and are medically, physically and psychologically fit, regardless of whether they have completed military service with arms or not.
Candidates are selected by a process of elimination based on psychological assessment, physical fitness test, medical examination, panel interview, and security clearance procedure.Candidates can earn a maximum of 100 points in total (secondary school performance – a maximum of 40 points, initial psychological assessment – 20 points, physical fitness test – 20 points, and panel interview – 20 points).
Selected candidates will attend a six-month training course at the "Sergeant Milunka Savić" NCO Training and Development Centre in Pančevo, as well as at specialist training centres and units of the Serbian Armed Forces. During the course, they will receive allowance. Upon successfully completing the training, candidates will be eligible for admission to professional military service and promotion to the rank of sergeant.The application deadline is April 30, 2026.
