Combat training of Serbian Armed Forces helicopter pilots underway

Combat training on Mi-35 helicopters is underway at the 714th Anti-Tank Helicopter Squadron “Senke” (Shadows), headquartered at the Morava Military Airbase in Lađevci.
The training activities, which form the final stage of the winter training cycle, are being conducted across the wider Kraljevo area and over military ranges. Their purpose is to maintain and enhance the proficiency of both flight and technical personnel and to ensure the unit is fully prepared to provide air support to the SAF’s ground forces during operations.

Crews are practising tactics, techniques, and procedures for coordinated missions involving multiple aircraft, engaging ground targets at the Pasuljanske Livade range. The results achieved so far confirm the high level of combat readiness of the helicopter crews.
Lieutenant Viktor Teodosić, an Mi-35 helicopter pilot, emphasizes that each flight mission is preceded by extensive preparations, which are crucial for its success.

— During the preliminary preparation phase, pilots prepare for the mission, familiarizing themselves with the flight plan and conducting individual preparations. During the execution preparation phase, they familiarize themselves with weather conditions and other air traffic that could affect the mission. After the flight, the crew carries out an analysis of the flight training - explains Lieutenant Teodosić.

Second Lieutenant Luka Labović says that being a military pilot is the fulfilment of a childhood dream.
   — I have always dreamed of flying combat helicopters that this squadron possesses. The squadron is specific in that it carries out anti-armour helicopter missions and operates close to the front lines - said Lt. Labović, taking the opportunity to encourage young people to apply for the current Serbian Armed Forces pilot recruitment programme.

Young men and women who wish to become pilots in the Serbian Armed Forces can apply until March 31. University graduates who have completed four-year degree programmes can apply for the Serbian Armed Forces' Aviation Reserve Officers' Course, while those who have completed four years of secondary school, or are in their final year, can apply for the Miliary Aviation Study Programme at the Military Academy.
