CAX operator training course
A training course designed to teach future operators to utilize software used in computer assisted exercises (CAX) is underway at the Serbian Armed Forces Simulation Training Centre in Belgrade.
The JCATS (Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation) software allows for the design and modelling of a wide range of conflict scenarios, simulating friendly and hostile forces, as well as time, space, information, and the dynamics of operations. The software is used for the training of all levels of command within the Serbian Armed Forces, providing staff officers and unit commands with realistic conditions for carrying out standardized training in the planning and execution of a full spectrum of combat operations. During the two-week training programme at the Centre, officers and non-commissioned officers from Serbian Armed Forces commands and units acquire basic skills in the use of the software, both for training purposes and for evaluating the proficiency of all entities involved in the decision-making process.
Trainees who successfully complete all elements of the training will put their knowledge into practice during national and international computer assisted exercises. These exercises represent an important form of hands-on training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces, as they enable commands and staff officers to train for the planning and execution of combat operations using minimal material resources.
