Promotion of “Meet and Build a Career in Military Healthcare” recruitment drive held at Military Medical Academy

Today, the Military Health Department of the Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the National Employment Service, hosted an event at the Military Medical Academy promoting the recruitment drive titled “Meet and Build a Career in Military Healthcare”. During the event, interested candidates were presented with the opportunities and benefits of pursuing a professional career within military healthcare institutions.
To promote the recruitment competition among students of secondary medical schools, as well as among all those who wish to improve military healthcare with their knowledge and humanity, representatives of the Military Health Department and the Military Medical Academy presented the organisation of the military healthcare system.

The Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Prof. Dragan Dinčić, MD, PhD, addressed the candidates in attendance, noting that military healthcare has a long tradition and highlighting that there is a large number of people interested in working at the Military Medical Academy.
- You, as students and young people today, and as future doctors and medical technicians, are privileged to perform a meaningful role: helping others, giving of yourselves for the well-being of others, and helping people when they need it most. And people need help the most when they are ill – said Brigadier General Dinčić, emphasizing that it is beneficial for young people to work in an organised system that looks after its employees and provides mentors to help them acquire knowledge.

Tanja Bjelobrk of the National Employment Service noted that this is a good opportunity for final-year medical school students to hear directly from employees of the MMA about the advantages and benefits of working at this military healthcare institution.
- The National Employment Service seeks to connect education with employment in an effort to address challenges in the labour market. Events like this are particularly important for young people, they find them beneficial, and they respond and attend them. Today, we offered job seekers who want to start their careers here the chance to come and learn all the details about the recruitment competition – Bjelobrk said.

Iva Radosavljević, a nurse at the MMA, said that she had first learned about scholarship opportunities through the Ministry of Defence website, which led her to apply and become a military scholarship recipient. She has now been working at the Military Medical Academy for over six months.
- With a great team such as the one at the Military Medical Academy, along with skilled staff and good colleagues, you settle in smoothly and adapt to a new environment more easily. After seven months I can say it’s been an incredibly pleasant experience. It is truly an honour to be part of an institution with such a long-standing tradition – said Nurse Radosavljević.

The competition for the recruitment of 195 healthcare professionals – doctors, nurses, medical technicians, and hospital staff is open until March 31. Eligible candidates must be adult citizens of the Republic of Serbia who are medically, physically, and psychologically fit to work in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and who have the required qualifications for the positions they are applying for.
