Minister of Defence receives “Kobre” members following their participation in UAE Swat Challenge
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić received today members of the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Kobre”, who participated in the UAE SWAT CHALLENGE 2026, an international competition of special police units, held in Dubai.
During the meeting, Minister Gašić commended the members of the “Kobre” MP Detachment for their dedication and effort during this year’s competition held in the United Arab Emirates. He said he was glad that the team, competing with a rejuvenated roster, was able to demonstrate an exceptional level of training, professionalism, and the ability to perform on par with the world’s elite units.- This prestigious competition provided them with the opportunity to exchange experience with elite units from around the world. In Dubai, members of the “Kobre” team demonstrated, shoulder to shoulder with the best, what dedication and teamwork really mean. They put in a great deal of effort to represent the Serbian Armed Forces in an honourable and professional manner, competing at the highest level and proving that Serbia has young people to be proud of – said the Minister of Defence. He also stressed that, if it hadn’t been for penalty points, the rejuvenated “Kobre” team would have ranked an impressive 11th overall.
The Minister of Defence also congratulated the Gendarmerie and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit teams on their results, noting that, together with the “Kobre” team, they demonstrated that the Republic of Serbia has special forces whose quality, equipment, and training do not lag behind the world’s best units of their kind.
The “Kobre” team was one of 109 teams from 48 countries participating in this year’s UAE SWAT CHALLENGE, an event organized by the Dubai Police since 2019.
