New classroom dedicated to training of Financial Service personnel officially opened
A new classroom dedicated to the training of Financial Service personnel was officially opened today at the Military Academy. The facility was established and equipped by the Budget and Finance Sector of the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with Poštanska Štedionica Bank.
The opening of the new classroom at the Military Academy was attended by Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Budget and Finance Goran Momčilović, the Rector of the Defence University, Brigadier General Boban Đorović, the Executive Director of Poštanska Štedionica Bank, Bojan Kekić, along with representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Military Academy, and Poštanska Štedionica.The classroom is intended for cadets enrolled in the Defence Economics study programme and for candidates attending the Reserve Officers’ Course – future Financial Service officers.
The Budget and Finance Sector equipped the classroom with IT equipment and test versions of all information systems used within the Financial Service, while Poštanska Štedionica Bank donated funds for infrastructural refurbishment, furniture, and educational equipment.With the opening of with this new training facility, cadets are provided with the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in the application of innovative business process automation systems, as well as to familiarize themselves with software-based control mechanisms, so that, upon completion of their studies, they are fully qualified to perform their initial duties.
In line with contemporary digitalisation trends, and relying on its own tradition, the Budget and Finance Sector, a service that was among the first to introduce computers in its operations more than five decades ago, has recognised the need for further advancement of the education of Financial Service cadets. Special emphasis has been placed on their training and direct application of new information systems used in financial and material operations of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
The continuous enhancement of the personnel, technological, and organisational capabilities of the Financial Service will contribute to the rational, cost-effective, and lawful utilisation of resources, as well as to the creation of stable financial conditions for the execution of missions within the defence system.
