Become member of Serbian Armed Forces – open call for enrolment in military schools
The Ministry of Defence has launched a competition for enrolment in military schools, which will remain open until March 31. Young people are invited to choose an honourable profession and a career path in the service of their homeland.
This year, 220 cadets will be admitted to the Military Academy, 35 cadets to the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy, 110 students to the Military Grammar School - 80 in the general programme, 20 in the Air Force programme, five to the second year and another five to the third year of the general programme, as well as 80 students to the "1,300 Corporals" Secondary Vocational Military School.All applicants are required to complete a mandatory selection process, which includes psychological and medical assessments, physical fitness testing, entrance examinations, and security vetting. This comprehensive procedure ensures that only the most capable and highly motivated young people are admitted.
Young men and women born in 2004 or later are eligible to apply for undergraduate studies at the Military Academy, whereas those born in 2006 or later are eligible to apply for the MMA Medical Faculty. Applicants to the Military Academy must have completed a four-year secondary education, or be in their final year of study. Those applying to the MMA Medical Faculty must have completed a grammar school or a four-year secondary programme in the fields of healthcare or veterinary medicine, or be in their final year of study.The Military Academy offers the following study programmes: Army, Air Force, Military Electronic Engineering, Military Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Protection Technology Engineering, Military Traffic Engineering, Defence Economics, and Air Defence. Candidates applying for the Air Force programme are subject to additional medical and psychological evaluations, as well as selective training, including parachute and flight training, which require an exceptionally high level of physical fitness and mental resilience.
Programmes at the Military Academy last four years and carry 240 ECTS credits, while studies at the МMA Medical Faculty last six years and carry 360 ECTS credits. Upon graduation, cadets are awarded a higher education degree and relevant professional qualifications, and are admitted to active military service. Graduates of the Military Academy are commissioned to the rank of second lieutenant in the appropriate branch or service, while graduates of the MMA Medical Faculty are commissioned to the rank of second lieutenant in the Medical Corps.Boys and girls born in 2010 or later are eligible to apply to the Military Grammar School and the "1,300 Corporals" Secondary Vocational Military School. For admission to the second year of the Military Grammar School, applicants must have been born in 2009 or later, and for the third year, in 2008 or later.
The first stage of the selection process for the Military Grammar School includes psychological and medical assessments. In the second stage, candidates undergo physical fitness testing as well as examinations in mathematics and Serbian language and literature. Security vetting is also conducted as part of the selection process. Candidates applying for the Air Force programme at the Military Grammar School are required to undergo additional psychological and medical examinations according to the Aeromedical Institute’s specialized programme.Education at the Military Grammar School lasts four years and follows the national curriculum for general secondary schools in the Republic of Serbia, supplemented with specialized military training. Upon graduation, students are required to continue their studies at the Military Academy.
The “1,300 Corporals” Secondary Vocational Military School trains future non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces. The school offers specialized programmes, including the Aero-Technical, Electronic Warfare, Telecommunications and IT, Air Defence Artillery, and Airborne Early Warning. Admission involves a two-stage selection process, psychological and medical evaluations, followed by physical fitness testing and examinations in mathematics and physics.All military schools provide students with accommodation, meals, healthcare, a stipend, and full coverage of tuition costs, all funded by the Ministry of Defence.
