Cutting-edge armaments, equipment, and training in 72nd Special Operations Brigade
Members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade conduct daily training within and outside the unit’s peacetime base located in Pančevo, with the aim of enhancing their proficiency and maintaining the unit’s combat readiness at a high level.
This tactical unit is organized on a modular principle and is designed and trained to conduct special operations, reconnaissance, and intelligence collection.Activities carried out at the training ground within the Rastko Nemanjić barracks in Pančevo include firearms training and training in special operations tactics, including urban warfare and the neutralization of enemy elements occupying residential facilities.
In addition to carrying out intensive training, which is a daily task, the unit is also preparing for the recruitment of new soldiers through the current recruitment call, which remains open until the end of the month. Eligible applicants are citizens of the Republic of Serbia who meet the prescribed general and specific requirements.A member of the Special Operations Battalion “Griffins” notes that applicants who meet the competition criteria are sent for selective training as candidates. During the ten-week selection period, they complete intensive military and physical training, and if they complete it successfully, they sign a fixed-term contract, i.e. a contract for a six-month probationary service.

During the training period, the candidates’ results are continuously monitored, and subsequently, they undergo evaluation, following which they are assigned to special operations battalions – said the member of the Griffins, noting that each individual is trained for specific duties, including counter-terrorism, sabotage, and all other forms of special operations.The competition for the recruitment of civilians into the 72nd Special Operations Brigade is open from February 1 to 28. Candidates whose applications are complete and submitted on time will undergo medical examinations, psychological assessment, physical fitness testing, and security clearance process, followed by basic and selective training. Candidates who have not completed military training with weapons are also eligible to apply. They will meet the requirements for admission into professional military service upon successful completion of selective training.
