Training on modern armoured combat vehicles
Intensive training for crews of the 4x4 M-16 Miloš multi-purpose armoured combat vehicles is currently underway at the Serbian Armed Forces training grounds in Prokuplje and the surrounding area, focusing on the use of these vehicles in peacekeeping operations.
This is a modern, domestically produced combat vehicle used by some Army units of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also by our infantry company deployed with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. As part of the training programme, officers and soldiers preparing for roles as vehicle commanders, gunners, and drivers are currently receiving both classroom-based theory lessons and hands-on training at the training grounds. The programme covers the operation of weapons systems, optoelectronic, thermal, and radar targeting and observation systems, mastering driving techniques across different types of terrain, as well as vehicle maintenance and fixing potential malfunctions.
During the next training phase, the crews will practise off-road driving and obstacle navigation at specialized training areas and conduct live-fire exercises using the vehicle’s integrated weapons system. This will be followed by collective training within an infantry company and an evaluation exercise to assess their readiness for deployment in international operations. The 4x4 M-16 Miloš armoured combat vehicle is characterized by high mobility in various conditions and modular ballistic protection for the crew. These features, combined with its integrated weaponry, modern subsystems, and versatile design solutions make it well-suited for a wide range of purposes within the Serbian Armed Forces.
