Serbia is a country with a rich sporting tradition, and throughout history, members of the armed forces have been among its pioneers and leading figures. As founders and prominent members of sports associations, they have made a significant contribution to the development of sport and physical education for numerous generations. Military discipline, perseverance, selflessness, and team spirit are just some of the virtues that distinguish every member and every unit of the Serbian Armed Forces – Minister Gašić said, adding that “these same virtues can be seen in athletes and sports teams across our country, who, through fair play and commitment in sports arenas, win medals and bring joy to their supporters.”

- Enhancing the physical readiness of members of the defence system is a daily activity, an indispensable part of training and preparation for the execution of tasks. With the support of the highest state leadership, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are making considerable efforts to ensure the best possible conditions for the training of military athletes, as well as other athletes across the country. - Your successes are no coincidence. They are the result of hard work and commitment, and a clear indication of the strength of a system that recognizes sport as a key component of professional development. The medals won, records broken, and high standings achieved go far beyond individual or team accomplishments. They are a source of pride for the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces, and the Republic of Serbia as a whole, and they confirm that military sport occupies a prominent place on both the national and international sporting stages.
