Serbian government holds thematic session
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, attended today a thematic session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, held at the Palace of Serbia, at the invitation of Prime Minister Đuro Macut. Prime Minister Macut also invited the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, to attend the session.
The session of the Government of Serbia was attended by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
During the session, key issues of strategic importance for Serbia were considered, with a particular focus on the overall political and economic situation in the country and globally, as well as on the implementation of development and infrastructure projects of national importance, including the Expo 2027 project.
President Vučić stated that ensuring peace, safety, and security of citizens requires the engagement of all state bodies in what has been established as the highest priority – preserving peace and stability in the country.President Vučić emphasised that important topics for Serbia include Expo, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, education, and science, and noted that for every country, one issue is of particular importance – the armed forces.
- I will visit all factories within Serbia’s defence industry in order to address their problems. I want you to know that our warehouses are currently full due to the suspension or reduction of ammunition exports, primarily as a result of internal pressures. I am not concerned about external pressures telling us not to export weapons or ammunition. As a consequence of that, our workers are now facing difficulties with salary payments. I will personally visit these factories, we will make certain changes to procedures, but we will have to change some other things as well – President Vučić said.
