Minister Gašić visits Ministry of Defence Centre in Zlatibor District
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić continued today’s visit to the Zlatibor District by touring the Ministry of Defence Centre for the local self-government of Užice, as well as the Centre’s offices in Požega, where he met with the management and employees to discuss ongoing tasks and priorities related to the implementation of conscription.
During the meeting, the Minister of Defence was briefed on the tasks related to conscription, compulsory labour and requisition, as well as on the planning of defence preparations.During the tour, Minister Gašić emphasized the importance of the Centre in the functioning of the defence system, noting that the Centre forms a basis for the implementation of activities related to military service, mobilization preparations, and the provision of information about conscription to citizens.
- Today, I had the opportunity to see first-hand the high degree of professionalism among members of the Centre, whose work ensures that activities related to conscription are carried out in an organized and responsible manner. Clear communication with citizens and continuous cooperation with local governments are prerequisites for the successful implementation of conscription – said Minister Gašić, emphasizing that the Ministry of Defence will continue to improve working conditions in its Centres and carry out activities aimed at further strengthening citizens’ trust in the defence system institutions.During his tour of the Zlatibor District, Minister Gašić met with Požega and Užice city officials, with whom he discussed the importance of maintaining and enhancing cooperation between Ministry of Defence Centres and local governments. Such cooperation, he noted, contributes to a better understanding of the role of defence in society and to a more effective implementation of joint activities during peacetime.
On today’s tour, Minister Gašić was joined by Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Siniša Radović, Head of the Defence Obligations Department Colonel Saša Petrović, and Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence Colonel Nikola Matović.
