Training on modern artillery rocket systems

Professional members of the Self-Propelled Multiple Rocket Launcher Battalion of the 2nd Army Brigade are currently training on the recently acquired M-18 Oganj modular rocket launchers.
The initial training phase, which is being conducted on the peacetime training grounds, will be followed by tactical drills, exercises, and live-fire training utilizing targets at various distances and in different conditions, to prepare unit members for the use of this system in combat operations on the modern battlefield.
Second Lieutenant Đorđe Branković, a platoon leader within an artillery battery, points out that the M-18 Oganj is designed to provide fire support to Army units and engage high-value targets deep behind enemy lines. The system is mounted on the chassis of the FAP 2234 motor vehicle.

— The main difference between this asset and its predecessor lies in its modularity, which enables it to use missiles of different calibers: 122 mm, 128 mm, 232 mm and 434 mm. Switching between the “grad”, “plamen”, “oganj” and “alas” modules allows us to change its range and effect on a target — said 2nd Lt Branković.
The introduction of this modern artillery missile system into service in the Serbian Armed Forces has improved the units’ ability to provide fire support. The modular M-18 Oganj has an automated line of sight, orientation and navigation, ability to use different containers with different ammunition, as well as the ability to carry out combat missions autonomously or work in conjunction with a universal mobile artillery computer station, along with reduced preparation and firing time and enhanced crew protection.
