Military Museum’s exhibition opens in Tunisia
To mark 110 years since the Serbian army landed in Tunisia, an exhibition arranged by the Serbian Military Museum, titled Bizerte 1916-1919-REFUGE OF FREEDOM, has opened at the Tunisian National Military Museum – the Rose Palace.
The exhibition arranged by the Military Museum in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and the Tunisian National Military Museum was opened by Acting Assistant Minister for Human Resources Siniša Radović.
Addressing the audience at the exhibition opening, Assistant Minister Radović emphasized that Tunisia and Bizerte hold a special place in the collective memory of the Serbian people. He also noted that Serbs know that the distant Tunisia is a true friend they can rely on in difficult times.The exhibition will be open to visitors until January 24, 2026.
As part of the visit, the Ministry of Defence delegation, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Antić, and Serbian Ambassador to Tunisia Dijana Ivančić visited Serbian military cemeteries in Menzel Bourguiba and Bizerte, where they laid wreaths and paid their respects to Serbian soldiers who laid down their lives for their homeland during the First World War.
