Training on radar systems in 126th ASEWG Brigade
Professional personnel of the 126th ASEWG Brigade are at the unit’s radar positions, undergoing intensive training in performing air surveillance and airspace control tasks.
The training is integrated in the unit’s daily activities carried out in its deployment areas and includes additional training of younger brigade members.The training includes theory lessons on the principles of operation of surveillance radars, tactical drills with the simulation of various airspace threat scenarios, as well as practical work on the maintenance of radar-computer equipment. The ability of operators to apply standard procedures for collecting, processing, and distributing radar intelligence, as well as the ability of technical staff to maintain the system’s hardware and software are also being monitored and evaluated.
To be able to carry out a large number of complex tasks and activities in situations where the speed and accuracy of response is crucial and coordination between all elements of the air surveillance, early warning and guidance system is necessary, the highest proficiency levels and total concentration is required from the unit members.Training is the principal task carried out daily to maintain and improve the skills of the unit and individuals necessary for effective control of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia, guidance of fighter aircraft, and provision of navigational support to aircraft in emergencies.
