Minister Gašić meets with Chinese Ambassador Li Ming
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia, H.E. Li Ming, with whom he discussed cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Minister of Defence emphasized that Serbia deeply appreciates the support provided by the People’s Republic of China, and noted that the personal relationship between the two countries’ leaders, President Aleksandar Vučić and President Xi Jinping, adds a special value to the traditionally friendly relations, as testified to by reciprocal visits and talks.
Minister Gašić expressed his confidence that in 2026, agreements reached during the visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to the People’s Republic of China would be implemented, and that the two armed forces would continue the good practice of conducting joint training and activities.
During the meeting, the Minister of Defence expressed his gratitude for China’s support at the international level regarding the status of Kosovo and Metohija, in light of the unilateral declaration of independence of part of Serbia’s territory, which is contrary to international law, international agreements, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
Ambassador Li Ming thanked Minister Gašić for the opportunity to discuss the importance of defence cooperation between the two countries and underscored the need to further strengthen cooperation all levels of mutual interest.
